Admiral car insurance, multi cover insurance, home insurance, travel insurance and pet insurance details:
What is multi cover insurance?
Admiral Multi Cover's designed to cover your car, van and
home on one discounted policy.
You can start with just one car, van or home, and any others
you tell us about are added when they're due for renewal – each new addition
earns its own discount.
It's a standard 12-month policy with the same renewal date.
What exactly can I add to a Multi Cover policy?
You can combine your car and van insurance with a full home
insurance policy, or just contents insurance if you’re a renter.
Multi Cover discount on each car, van or home
Whichever home insurance you choose you get a Multi Cover
discount on each vehicle or home you add.
Multi Cover is also great for families – you can combine
your immediate family’s cars, vans and homes – and they don’t all have to live
at the same address.
So for example, you can insure your car and your sister’s
house on a Multi Cover policy. You can insure your home, and your son’s van
(who lives away at university) on a Multi Cover policy.
As well as cars, vans and homes, you can also add Landlord
cover into the mix.
There are loads of options with Multi Cover, to find out

Four reasons to choose Admiral Multi Cover Insurance
One renewal date
You won't need to remember different dates, with Multi Cover
you have one renewal date for everything on your policy
12-month policy
You can add a vehicle or home at any point during the
year-long policy, it’ll still renew on the same date as the first thing you
added
Full year’s No Claims Bonus
Any car covered for more than three months gets a full
year's No Claims Bonus.
Look after your policy online

No Claims Bonus Promise
For any car or van you add to a Multi Cover Insurance

You'll get up to £500 for call out charges, parts and labour for temporary repairs for things like central heating and hot water emergencies. Two claims can be made per policy term. Claims can be made seven days after your cover starts, and incidents must be reported within 48 hours.
Accidental Damage Cover
Available on buildings and contents insurance, for accidental damage to personal belongings, fixtures and fittings at home.
Why do you need Home Insurance?
Home insurance protects your house and everything inside it, including the fixtures, fittings and all your belongings. It covers theft, damage to your property caused by fire and bad weather, and damage and loss of your possessions.
Your home will probably be the most expensive purchase you ever make. Not only that, it's filled with your most cherished possessions. Because no two homes are the same, we offer different types of home protection to make sure homeowners, renters and landlords all get the right cover.
There are three main types of home cover:
Buildings
Contents
Combined (buildings and contents)
What type of cover do I need?
If you're a homeowner and live in the property, you may want to purchase a combined buildings and contents insurance policy.
Renters only need to look at contents cover as your landlord is responsible for the structural maintenance. However, you should check the terms of your rental agreement to be sure.
If you're already a homeowner, or you're a first-time buyer, you’ll be aware that buildings cover is a condition of a mortgage offer.
What is buildings insurance?
This cover protects the bricks and mortar of your home. If your walls, roof, ceiling, fitted kitchen or any other structural items were damaged, you'd claim on this policy. Fire, water and malicious damage are all covered by Admiral Buildings Insurance.
Often one of the most confusing parts of a home insurance quotes is calculating the rebuild cost as it’s different to the estimated value. Over-estimating could mean you pay too much for your insurance, while under-estimating could mean you receive a lower pay-out if you claim. With InstaQuote, we do all this for you behind the scenes, so you don’t need to get the figure.
If you don't get an InstaQuote price and need to speak to one of our advisors, don’t worry – we have a great guide on ‘calculating rebuild costs’ to help you with the sums.
What’s the difference between buildings and contents insurance?
While buildings cover protects your home’s structure, ‘contents’ covers your possessions – basically, the things you'd take with you if you move. A contents insurance policy isn't compulsory, but could you replace everything in your home if it was stolen or damaged?
Contents cover protects items such as furniture, clothes and electrical items if they’re damaged, lost or stolen. Depending on your level of cover, your contents can be up to the value of £150,000.
As with a buildings policy, you'll need to estimate the value of the items in your home you want covered, but with InstaQuote, we do this for you. If you don’t get a price online and speak to one of our advisors they’ll talk you through this part and you can use our handy contents calculator to work out the value of your belongings.

Also consider the length of cover you need. Single Trip policies cover one trip up to 365 days while our Annual Travel policies cover you for 12 months. You can take an unlimited number of trips lasting up to 31 days on the annual policy.
What does travel insurance cover?
After forking out for the holiday you might be asking yourself 'what is travel insurance and do I really need it?'.
Basically, it's there to protect you if the worst were to happen while you're overseas. This includes:
Having to cancel your trip or cut it short
Having personal belongings stolen
The airline losing your luggage
You can choose Single Trip travel insurance or annual cover and add on any of our policy upgrades if you're going skiing, golfing or on a cruise - Winter Sports, Golf and Cruise travel.
Why do you need travel insurance?
Many people think it's just there to help if their flights are delayed or their baggage goes missing but it could be the difference between an accident abroad costing you an insurance excess, or paying thousands of pounds out of your own pocket.
The average cost of a medical claim on a travel policy in 2016, according to the ABI, was £1,300.
Mark Shepherd, Assistant Director, Head of Property, Commercial and Specialist Lines at the Association of British Insurers, said: “While most travellers enjoy their breaks, falling seriously ill overseas is stressful enough, without the added worry of how to pay for potentially very expensive medical bills."
Admiral provides you with 24-hour emergency support so you'll be able to reach someone at any time if the worst were to happen.
Why choose Admiral Travel Insurance?
You can be insured almost anywhere worldwide and for a range of fun activities such as scuba diving, windsurfing, canoeing and more.
There's always a lot to worry about before heading off abroad, but if you buy Admiral Travel Insurance, you'll have one less thing on your mind.
You can then jet off safe in the knowledge that:
Your cover will be provided instantly
You'll have 24-hour emergency support
You’ll have up to £20 million of medical expenses cover (with the Platinum tier)
What to do if you lose your passport abroad
You can make a claim for the cost of extra transport, accommodation and administration costs you have to pay to get a replacement passport or emergency travel document. We’ll pay up to £300, £400 or £500 (depending on your tier of cover) towards these costs.
Please keep all receipts and obtain written confirmation from the embassy/consulate showing the date of the incident and cost of the replacement passport.
What if I have a pre-existing medical condition?
A pre-existing medical condition is a short or long term illness or injury you have or have had before you buy travel insurance. This includes having symptoms, tests, diagnosis or medical treatment for a condition.
You can declare your pre-existing medical conditions during the quote process to see if we can offer cover. If you’re unsure what needs to be declared or if you're unable to find your condition on the medical conditions list, please contact us on 0333 234 9913.
Your pre-existing medical conditions won’t be covered unless you’ve:
Declared them all on your policy
Received written confirmation that we’ll cover your medical condition
Paid any additional premium in full
Policy terms and conditions apply. Please note, if you’ve had a positive diagnosis of Covid-19 and been prescribed medication, received treatment, or had a consultation with a doctor or hospital specialist for any medical condition in the past two years, this needs to be declared on your policy.
If you don’t tell us about your pre-existing medical conditions or give us incorrect information, your policy may be invalid, and we may refuse all or part of any claim you submit.
For a quote with us, click the green button above.
The Money Advice Service Medical Directory
If you have or have had a more serious pre-existing medical condition and are struggling to find travel insurance, the Money Advice Service medical directory may be able to help. This directory has a panel of travel insurance providers who specialise in covering serious medical conditions.
Alternatively, you can call them on 0800 138 7777. (Monday to Friday 8:00-18:00, closed on Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays.)
Which countries does Admiral Travel Insurance cover?
You can get cover for pretty much anywhere you might want to go. But since ‘pretty much anywhere’ isn't everywhere, we've broken it down into four zones:
UK
Europe
Worldwide excluding USA, Canada, Caribbean and Mexico
Worldwide
Bear in mind we can’t provide cover for any trips to countries where the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office advises against 'all travel' or 'all but essential travel'.
Check with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office if you're not sure.

Why do I need pet insurance?
While pet insurance isn’t compulsory, there’s no NHS for animals and the average pet insurance claim in 2018 was £793, according to the Association of British Insurers – a large amount to pay out of your pocket.
The ABI says the “overwhelming majority” of pet insurance payouts were for vet bills – just like humans, medical care for animals is becoming increasingly sophisticated, and therefore, expensive.
The cost of getting quality veterinary treatment can quickly run into thousands of pounds, so having the peace of mind your pet is covered for life-saving treatment can be invaluable.

Get a 5% discount with multi pet
If you have more than one cat or dog in your home, multi pet insurance could be the perfect fit. For every pet you add to your multi pet cover, you'll get a 5% discount on each policy, and you'll get that every year you renew with Admiral Pet Insurance!
Minimum premium spend required to be eligible for discount, £89.76 for dogs and £65.67 for cats.
What’s included?
Lifetime Cover
Lifetime Cover is the most comprehensive policy provided. It covers accidents and illnesses up to the total policy limit, with no time restrictions. At each renewal the policy limit for veterinary fees is reset, so if you've reached your policy limit the previous term, you can start claiming again.
Choose between Classic, Premier and Premier Plus products.
Maximum Benefit Cover
Maximum Benefit Cover provides an allowance of veterinary fees for each condition. Each condition will continue to be covered with no time limit, until you have reached the policy limit for that condition. Once that limit has been exhausted, those conditions will no longer be covered.
12 Month Cover
A 12 Month policy provides an allowance of veterinary fees for a period of 12 months from the date the condition is first treated. When either the veterinary fee limit or the 12 months has been used up, the condition you claimed for will become excluded.
Good to know
You can claim for accidents just 24 hours after your policy starts and for illnesses showing ‘Clinical Signs’ 14 days after.
Clinical Signs means changes in your pet’s normal healthy state, its bodily functions or behaviour.
Pre-existing medical conditions aren’t covered by Admiral Pet Insurance. All cover is subject to premiums being up to date, policy remaining in force and insurer offering renewal.
Make sure you read the full policy benefits before making your choice.
